Although most of the vehicles involved in Volkswagen’s latest admission were diesel vehicles, this latest admission raises the possibility that the recent VW emissions scandal may involve regular gasoline-powered vehicles sold by the German automaker. Used sale prices for Volkswagen and Audi “TDI Clean Diesel” vehicles involved in the VW Dieselgate scandal have fallen considerably since the German automaker announced that it would recall these vehicles. The Kelley Blue Book and other used car pricing sources report that used prices for the Jetta TDI and other VW “clean diesel” vehicles have fallen precipitously in the wake of Volkswagen’s admissions that it lied to consumers about the performance and emissions levels of its so-called “Clean Diesel” vehicles.
